Celebrating Memorial Day

Happy Tuesday!

I hope everyone had a restful and fun filled long weekend! We were…..as always it seems….busy all weekend long. Since it was Memorial Day that meant we spent two long days at the baseball fields watching Team Citius play. And we got to spend lots of time with the grandkids and lots of baseball.

The weather was warm, humid and windy. In short it was a bad hair weekend. Sunday morning as I was straightening my hair I suddenly realized what a complete waste of time it was. I should have just put on a hat and called it a day.

Little Miss Emily is quite a character these days. She knows exactly what she wants and what she doesn’t want and has no issues making her opinion clear.

She wants to do everything herself and wants to make everyone else do what she wants them too.
We had a lot of fun playing with her. On Sunday Lilly and Giuli joined the group as well resulting in more grand kid watching than baseball enjoying.

We did get a little rain on Monday morning which turned the outside into a sauna for most of the day. Perfect weather for watching war movies in the air conditioning.

Monday afternoon was Ed’s family bbq and I was volunteered to make beans. Oh yeah……..no pressure there. I got up early and put on a big batch. Once it all got cooked it seemed like an awful lot of beans and I was worried that we would have a ton leftover. No fear of that. I came home with an empty crockpot. Not a bean in sight. 🙂

I guess since they grilled 14 lbs of meat it makes sense that the sides went fast too.
Almost all of the family was there and it was a pretty good sized group with lots of noise and laughter. It’s a bit intimidating but I’m getting more used to it. His dad is looking really healthy and back to his old self. He hung in with everyone for a long time.

When we were getting ready to leave David decided that he was going to come home with me. He started waving bye to everyone including his mom and cried like crazy when I had to put him down. Lol….he is so funny. I think all of the kids were probably going to crash as soon as they got them in their cars.

So now we are home and I’m tired. Tomorrow morning is going to come early and even though it’s a short week. Especially since it’s a short week. So I’m off to bed.

Have a great week everyone!
