Darkness can not drive out darkness: Only light can do that. Hate can not drive out hate: only love can do that. -Martin Luther King Jr
Happy Monday and to those of you who have this holiday off I am jealous. I had to drag myself from bed and into work where I really don’t want to be. Sigh. Weekends are tooooooo short.
This weekend was one of those weekends that make us happy that we live in South Texas. The skies were clear. The humidity was low. The winds were light. It was wonderful.
And we took full advantage of it by taking walks on both days. Saturday afternoon we went down to Corpus Christi Bay and walked along the water. They have added some new sidewalks and it was really nice. We even saw some of the first wildflowers of the year in bloom!
Saturday evening Vanessa and the girls came over to drop off our Girl Scout Cookies. We had a quota to purchase since Lilly is selling them. We hadn’t seen them in a couple of weeks and baby David has grown so much. Vanessa said he weighed 9 lbs at his doctor’s appointment last week.
He has started to smile. He looks like Popeye when he does it and he is losing his hair just like Giuli did. He has bald stripes on both sides and looks like a little old man. He is three months old today and you can tell that he is ready to start moving around. He was lifting his head and looking all over the place and throwing his body. He will be crawling before we know it.
When I was holding him I stuck my tongue out and he started to stick his out back…..lol. This is such a fun age. The girls of course ran all over the house like crazy little maniacs until it was time to go home.
Sunday we slept in late. Well, to be clear Edward slept in late. The cats can’t stand it when I don’t get up at the ‘normal’ time and make it their mission to get me out of bed. Between 5 am and 7:30 they had me up 6 times. SIX! It was in and out and in and out and we need a drink and isn’t it breakfast time and we want out. Ugh. I should have just gotten up at 7 am but I hung in there and snuggled for a couple of hours more.
I love the weekend when we can go find someplace new to walk and not have to rush. Plus it makes the weekend feel productive. I mean, we walked not once but TWICE. We are almost athletes! Giggle.
Time for work–Have a great week everyone!
