Happy Labor Day!

“Try to remember the kind of September
When life was slow and oh so mellow
Try to remember the kind of September
When grass was green and grain so yellow
Try to remember the kind of September
When you were a young and a callow fellow
Try to remember and if you remember
Then follow–follow, oh-oh.”
Try to Remember, Lyrics by Tom Jones and Harvey Schmidt

Well, we are sadly home from a relaxing enjoyable weekend in Texas Hill Country with friends.   We spend three days relaxing on the deck, playing in the river, looking at the sights and drinking cocktails.

It was awesome!

Edward, Mark and Kristina picked me up from work about 3 pm on Friday and we hit the highway along with a whole bunch  of other people.  Loads of traffic headed out and about the same amount heading to the beach.

We got to the cabin around 7 just in time to unpack, make dinner and relax.  No water in the Sabinal this time but we did get to see the rising ‘blue’ moon over the hills just after sunset!

Saturday morning Kristina and I made a very interesting breakfast…….chorizo, potatoes & eggs and bisquits and gravy!  Lol……we had plenty to eat thats for sure.  Then we headed to Garner and the Frio River.   The water was so much better than last year so there were plenty of spots to relax!

Edward, of course set to work making friends with the ‘neighbors’ in the river and we spent the afternoon laughing along with a family from San Antonio including “Angina” and her husband ‘Scotty Too Hottie’.  We drank plenty of sangria and swam the afternoon away.

We got home in time to clean up and have dinner at Lost Maples Cafe before going back to Garner for the Saturday evening dance.

Sunday morning we slept in late and then went for a drive to Lost Maples State Park before heading to the Frio for another afternoon of swimming.

Monday morning arrived way to quick and it was time to begin the trip home.   I wish we had a few more days to stay but it was back to work today…………..

Oh well, only 51 weeks until vacation 2013!!!!
