Yesterday afternoon Rascal was laying on the kitchen floor like he was posing for pictures. (The cats stayed inside a lot this weekend because of the rain) So I decided to take a picture of him so you could see how his winter coat is growing in.
I laid down on the floor and tried to get him to look at me so I could take a picture but he was all distracted. Distracted by what you ask?
Distracted by this:
No the girls don’t get jealous at all when Rascal gets attention…..not at all. Finally I got them out of the way long enough to take one quick picture:MommaCat laid down close by to show Rascal that she could pose for pictures too:
We had a low key weekend here at home. We went out for dinner on Friday night to Texas Roadhouse and since we went late I thought it would be a lot less crowded but I was wrong. We had a long wait for a table but a few cocktails helped to pass the time.
Saturday Edward went to CCYFL leaving me with the whole afternoon to myself. There was a lot of cleaning and organizing to do. Plus the Texas game to watch. Football, cooler weather so then I started to get out the fall decorations. Nothing Halloweeney yet but but I start with some of the other things. I will put up Halloween in a couple of weeks. But this week I got out a lot of the apple items. The house smells so nice and cozy. It was really a nice day at home. Once Edward got home we had dinner and a watched a movie before bedtime.
We woke up about 3 am Sunday morning to the sound of a loud thunderstorm. It’s been a long time since that has happened and it was neat to lay in bed listening to the boom of the thunder and the rain on the roof. It is amazing how quickly the grass turned back to green.
Since I finished most of my chores on Saturday, Sunday was a more relaxing day. Just a couple loads of laundry to finish and grocery shopping to do. I put chicken in the smoker and made beans and potato salad for dinner. I even fit in a short nap on the sofa with MommaCat & Spooky planted on top of me.
Then I took Zach shopping for ‘work’ clothes. He is starting his first job this afternoon so we had to get him outfitted. Now he has enough to hold him until he gets his first paycheck.
Sunday night we went to the movies since I hadn’t been out of the house much over the weekend. We went to pay for the movie ticket and the (teenage) cashier asked if there were any senior tickets. Ed asked what a ‘senior’ was and she just gave us a discount. I kind of started to giggle at Edward for getting a senior citzen discount but then I looked at the tickets and saw she gave it to both of us.
What the hell? I’m in no way close enough to get a senior discount………..oh well, saved us $4.00. Lol!
We saw Contagion. A pretty good movie that made me want to wash my hands all the time and stay far away from anyone coughing…….lol.
So now it’s Monday and since I didn’t win the lottery over the weekend I have to go back to work. Sigh. I need to work harder at winning the lottery because this working thing is for the birds.
