Half Way Through The Week

“Know what you want to do, hold the thought firmly, and do every day what should be done, and every sunset will see you that much nearer the goal.”

Wednesday!!  The week is half over…………finally.  The weather has stayed beautiful all week and every morning it is a joy to walk outside. The down side is that we have influenza going around at work and I am doing my very best to avoid it.  One day this week I need to stop and get my flu shot before my luck runs out.

The cooler weather has inspired me to cook more comfort foods.  Last night I made a pork loin with raisin sauce & mashed potatoes & gravy.  Edward says that the raisin sauce completely makes this meal and I agree.  We also broke open a nice bottle of wine to enjoy some quiet time together.

I did a little bit of holiday shopping last evening and found a new  haunted house to add to our decorations.  It looks very cute on the liquor cabinet!  I also picked out the special candy that I will use to make halloween bags for the grandkids.  World Market has gummy vampire teeth, Dots bats, and scary chocolate monsters……what fun!

Rascal is cracking us up these days.  The moment the overnight temperatures plummeted to the 60’s he started wanting to stay in the house at night.  Not just stay in the house but sleep in the bed with us.  When we went to bed last night he was firmly planted in the middle of the bed and he refused to move.  That sure made snuggling a little more difficult!  He slept with us most of the night until it apparently got too cold in the bedroom and he moved to the guest room.  After breakfast he stil wasn’t too excited about heading outside.  It is amazing that the cat with the most amount of fur is the most bothered by cool temperatures!

That’s about it for today.  I need to get an early start out the door and it’s going to be another long one.  Football tonight!

Have a great Wednesday!
