Time Flies When You Are Having Fun

The rhythm of the weekend, with its birth, its planned gaieties, and its announced end, followed the rhythm of life and was a substitute for it.  ~F. Scott Fitzgerald

Lilly was trying to take a picture of us together....lol

When we were starting the weekend it looked like we were going to be running non-stop full of things to do.  Instead thanks to a headache on Friday night we had to cancel out plans and Ed didn’t have to work at all so things became a lot more open.

Friday night late Edward and I went to a late dinner at Joe’s Crab Shack as kind of a ‘last meal’.  Yummy crab!!!! 🙂  Afterwards we went home and stayed up waaaaay too late watching movies.  (Braveheart was on late night tv). So Saturday morning we slept in before biting the bullet and heading to Weight Watchers.  Back on it again this morning!

After breakfast at Jalisco we came home and relaxed the rest of the day.  I tried to get started on my planned organizing and cleaning but Edward requested that I come and sit down and relax with him.  I was happy to oblige.  I made a potroast for dinner and we enjoyed a nice glass of wine to go alone with it.

Late Saturday evening we got the call asking us to watch Lilly on Sunday.  We said yes of course.  She arrived bright eyed and bushy tailed by 8 am and wanted to get in to the pool first thing.  I told her we couldn’t until PoPo was up and we had breakfast.  She was happy to wake him up.  What follows are some highlights from the day…..lol.  I skipped pictures of coloring, reading books, playing croquet and torturing the cats. (There was a lot of cat chasing!)

Washing up the dishes

Picking up groceries at HEB so we can make dessert. Lilly also came home with popsicles.

Finally it was time to get in the pool!

After about 2 minutes she insisted that I get in the pool with her.

After swim time and lunch it was back to work for Lilly!

Finally she got to play with bubbles

The last picture should be of me collapsed on the sofa because she totally wore we out!!!!!  I swear she didn’t stop talking or running  from the  minute she arrived until she left at 5.  But we had an awesome day!

As soon as Lilly left Edward and I got in the truck for the trip to Rockport to have dinner and watch the Cowboys play with Keith and Susan.  A fun night full of laughter as usual.  Sadly the Dallas Cowboys lost a heartbreaker.  :-(.

So I’m up early this morning to go for a walk before work.  I’m not excited about it but it must be done.  There are too many exciting things going on this next year for me to not get this weight off!    Have a great Monday!!
